The green transition leaves several hundred platforms for scrap and recycling. This happens after only 30-40 years of working life, even though it is estimated that structures of this kind can last for another 100 years. Oil and gas platforms have been parasite in search of resources of the World’s oceans, and are now used as a catalysator to regenerate ocean water. The proposal addresses some of the most extreme environmental challenges humanity will meet within this decade such as pollution, bio diversity loss, food security and sea level rise. At the same time, the platform becomes an attractive attraction for the area that promotes eco-tourism and education in future ways to approach the global challenges.
