This project has been an investigation into the social and cultural problems foreign workers in the fishery industry faces when coming to Norway, and using architecture as a medium to open up the debate around quality social housing in isolated regions and activating villages on the decline due to urbanization and governmental neglect.
Main investigations has revolved around social spaces for workers, tectonic principles in line with climate affections and (un)availability of materials, the social impact of buildings in villages as well as the economic viability of building for adaptability. As such, the project follows three main themes:
the social - in regards to the worker and the village
the economical - in regards to the industry and it's impact
the tectonic - in regards to the territory and climate
